I have worked in Education for the last 15 years after successfully completing both the Certificate and Diploma in School Business Management. I thoroughly enjoy the challenging role of School/Teaching School Business Manager at Alfreton Nursery School/Teaching School, since being appointed in 2016.
My school experience ranges from extended services, the primary sector, the maintained Nursery sector and Teaching Schools. I am a committee member for the Association of Business Leaders in Education (ABLE) Committee http://ablepro.info/. My role of Partners Co-ordinator helps support the long-term sustainability of ABLE.
I have a wealth of experience working with schools, local businesses and community organisations. I enjoy helping schools to benefit from cost savings through effective procurement, best value, grant funding, sharing resources through schools working together and through Teaching School deployments, training and collaboration. Saving schools money is extremely rewarding, especially knowing savings can benefit so many children and young people. I have advised other schools and SBMs on financial competence through my Teaching School links and recently trained a potential SBM through coaching and shadowing.
I am happy to support schools with business management, finance and administrative systems as part of my SLE Business Management role.
