My name is Hayley Broadbent and I currently teach in the Foundation Stage Two unit at Ripley Infant School. I am the EYFS Manager, the Deputy Head Teacher at Ripley Infant School and I have just become an SLE with the Teaching School Alliance at Alfreton Nursery School.
I have been teaching for over eighteen years and during this time I have spent the vast majority of the time working in EYFS although I have also taught across key stage one. When I arrived at Ripley Infant School in 2009 I was given the task of planning and developing a Foundation Stage Two unit for up to sixty children.
I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and would love to do a similar task again! I am currently working on redeveloping our outdoor provision with a focus of incorporating Forest School approaches . I became a local authority moderator for the EYFS Profile in April 2014 and in September 2014 I became an Early Years Lead Teacher for Derbyshire. During my time as an Early Years Teacher I have continued to support and work alongside practitioners to develop their EYFS practise, make improvements to indoor and outdoor provision, whilst giving them the confidence to facilitate change.
